High School

Where Curiosity Meets Ambition

At GrowBright International School, our High School curriculum is an intentional, two-stage pathway for students aged 15–18 (Grades 9–12). Grades 9 and 10, opening in August 2028, follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework, continuing to develop academic skills, critical thinking, and future-ready capabilities.

This provides a purposeful transition and strong foundation for the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11 and 12. Grade 11 will open in August 2029, with our first Grade 12 cohort graduating in May 2031. In the DP, students gain academic depth, engage with global perspectives, and explore specialised pathways, preparing them not only for exam success but also for university entrance and a life of purpose.

Grades 9 – 10 • Ages 14 – 16 • Middle Years Programme (MYP 4 - 5)

A step towards excellence in life.
The first stage of the GrowBright High School experience is defined by quality, choice, and flexibility. These pivotal years serve as the essential launchpad, allowing students to explore their interests and sharpen future-ready skills before venturing into their final academic challenge: the IB Diploma Programme (DP).

Programme Highlights:

  • A broad yet academically rigorous curriculum
Students continue to study across all IB MYP subject groups, with increasing academic challenge and subject depth. This ensures strong foundations while maintaining intellectual curiosity and balance.
  • Purposeful preparation for the IB Diploma Programme
Learning is deliberately structured to develop analytical thinking, academic writing, independent study habits, and resilience, all essential for success in the IB Diploma Programme.
  • The MYP Personal Project in Grade 9
Students complete the Personal Project in Grade 9, allowing them to develop research, reflection, and self-management skills early, while ensuring a more balanced and focused curriculum in Grade 10.
  • A strengthened Grade 10 academic focus
With the Personal Project completed, Grade 10 students can concentrate fully on subject mastery, assessment readiness, and higher-order thinking, creating a smoother transition into DP-level study.
  • Bespoke GBIS Knowledge and Critical Thinking Course
A tailored GBIS course develops students’ critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and understanding of how knowledge is constructed across disciplines, providing a strong foundation for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) in the IB Diploma Programme.

Regardless of the chosen pathway, all students transition into a unified Grade 10. This ensures every learner is perfectly positioned, academically and socially, to make the “best-fit” choices for the IB DP in Grades 11 and 12.

Grades 11 – 12 • Ages 16 – 18 • Diploma Programme (DP 1 - 2)

Preparing students for university, leadership and life.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) represents the pinnacle of the GrowBright academic journey. As one of the world’s most respected pre-university qualifications, the DP develops knowledgeable, resilient and principled young people who are prepared to succeed in higher education and contribute meaningfully beyond school.

At GBIS, IB Diploma students are not only preparing for examinations, but for the intellectual independence, ethical leadership and global engagement required in the next stage of their educational and personal journey.

Programme Highlights:

  • A full and balanced IB Diploma curriculum
Students study a broad range of subjects drawn from all six IB academic groups, ensuring depth of knowledge alongside breadth of understanding.
  • The IB Diploma Core
Central to the DP experience are three core components that develop critical thinking, research skills and personal growth:
    • Theory of Knowledge (TOK): Exploring how knowledge is constructed and evaluated across disciplines.
    • Extended Essay (EE): An independent, university-style research project developing academic writing and inquiry skills.
    • Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): Experiential learning that promotes wellbeing, leadership and community engagement.
  • Personalised pathways and areas of specialisation
Within the IB framework, students are supported to pursue areas of interest, such as pathways aligned with Business, Innovation and Global Affairs.
  • Purpose-driven learning and leadership opportunities
Students engage in extended projects, social impact initiatives and entrepreneurial experiences that connect academic learning to real world challenges.
  • Preparation for future pathways
Through guidance, mentoring and external partnerships, students are supported in making informed choices about university, careers and leadership opportunities.

Graduates of the IB Diploma Programme at GBIS leave as confident, independent thinkers; equipped with the academic discipline, research skills, and global perspective required for success at leading universities and in an ever-changing world.
