Digital Learning

Digitally Literacy at GrowBright

Learning with Purpose in a Connected World

At GrowBright International School, technology is not an end in itself, but a powerful tool that supports inquiry, creativity, and meaningful learning. Our approach to digital literacy is guided by IB principles and ensures that technology enhances, rather than replaces, hands-on educational experiences.

From Primary through to High School, students learn to use digital tools thoughtfully, safely, and ethically, developing the skills and judgment required to navigate an increasingly complex digital world.

Our Digital Pact
We believe the internet is a public square, and our character must shine just as brightly online as in the classroom. We promise to foster a culture of Cyber-Wellbeing where technology is used to create, connect, and learn, but never to cause harm.

We commit to:

  • Thinking Before We Click: Teaching students to pause and consider the impact of their digital footprint.
  • Respecting Privacy: protecting our own personal data and honouring the privacy of others.
  • Standing Against Cyberbullying: Creating a zero-tolerance environment for online harassment and empowering “upstanders” who report harmful behaviour.
  • Balancing Connection: Promoting a healthy relationship with screens that prioritises real-world interaction and mental health.
  • Honouring Intellectual Property: Using digital resources ethically, giving credit where it is due, and practising academic honesty.

Collaboration & Communication

Digital platforms support collaboration, reflection and shared inquiry across the curriculum. Centralised learning hubs and cloud-based tools enable students to work together, manage assignments and engage in group problem-solving. Interactive digital portfolios capture learning over time, offering students opportunities for reflection and providing families with clear insight into progress and growth.

Digital Literacy & Responsible Use

Responsible digital citizenship is explicitly taught at every stage of the school. Students learn about online safety, data privacy, digital footprints, and ethical use of technology, alongside strategies for evaluating the credibility and relevance of digital information. Equal importance is placed on digital wellbeing, helping students develop healthy, balanced relationships with technology.

Future-Ready Skills

Through age-appropriate, scaffolded experiences, students develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills, progressing from foundational logic to more advanced programming and design. Access to tools for digital design, media production and robotics allows learners to connect theoretical understanding with real-world applications.

Personalised & Inclusive Learning

Digital tools are used to support personalised learning and inclusion. Adaptive platforms, flipped learning approaches, and assistive technologies help ensure that learning is accessible, appropriately challenging, and responsive to individual needs, whilst maximising meaningful interaction in the classroom.

What this means for your child?

  • Technology is used thoughtfully to support learning, not distract from it.
  • Your child learns how to stay safe, ethical and balanced online.
  • Digital tools help personalise learning and support individual strengths.
  • Collaboration, creativity and critical thinking are developed across subjects.
  • Learning remains active, hands-on and connected to the real world.

PYP > MYP > DP Digital Literacy Progression

Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Students use technology as a tool for inquiry and creativity. They develop foundational digital skills, learn safe and responsible online behaviours and begin to evaluate information with guidance.

Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Students deepen their digital literacy through research, collaboration and design thinking. They learn to analyse information critically, communicate across platforms and use technology purposefully within and across subjects.

Diploma Programme (DP)
Students use digital tools independently for advanced research, collaboration and creation. Technology supports university-style inquiry, ethical reasoning and self-directed learning in preparation for higher education and future careers.

Our Digital Learning Curriculum

Enhancing enquiry and collaboration through a seamless digital ecosystem.

AI Literacy and Adaptive Learning

We don’t shy away from Artificial Intelligence; we teach students to master it. Through age-appropriate exposure to AI tools and adaptive learning software, students learn to use technology as a co-pilot for creativity and research, while understanding the ethics and biases behind the algorithms.

Immersive Realities (VR & AR)

The world is our classroom. By using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) headsets, we take students beyond the campus boundaries—allowing them to walk through ancient civilisations or explore the human circulatory system in 3d. This immersive method transforms abstract ideas into real, hands-on experiences.

The Digital Portfolio

Every student at GrowBright creates their own Digital Portfolio, an ongoing collection of their academic journey. This platform enables students to document their work, reflect on their growth, and share their achievements with parents in real-time, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their learning.

Information Fluency and Academic Integrity

In a time of information overload, discerning truth is a formidable skill. We teach advanced information literacy, guiding students in conducting thorough research, assessing source credibility, and upholding academic honesty. We prepare students to be critical consumers, not just passive scrollers.

Computational Thinking and Robotics

Coding is the literacy of the future. Our programme integrates computational thinking from the Early Years onwards, progressing from logic games and block-based coding to advanced languages like Python. By combining code with physical robotics, students discover that they have the power to programme the world around them.
